Rodear Meats is a family-run business that was established in January of 1990. Sarah and David Fernie built the business deep in the heart of the Cariboo Mountain Foothills. Set in the pristine Beaver Valley, Rodear Meats processes the finest meats. It is a government-inspected 6500 square foot slaughter and processing plant situated on their 200-acre ranch in the fertile Beaver Valley, British Columbia. Located approximately 78 kilometers northeast of Williams Lake, the ranch has been in operation since the early 1900s. It includes eighty acres in forage production as well as a 1400-acre grazing lease.
Rodear Meats operates a full-service custom slaughter and processing facility. The Rodear Meats brand is marketed throughout British Columbia to wholesalers, retailers and quality-minded individuals. We serve livestock customers throughout B.C. and we provide a quality comprehensive processing service tailored to meet their marketing needs.
We offer a wide range of packaging options. There is customized block-ready for our chef and wholesale customers and we can package down to 30-gram portions of shelf-stable goods for our retail and individual customers.
Rodear Meats has been an inspected facility since its inception in 1990. We are licenced through the British Columbia Centre for disease control # BC04, and have been in good standing since 1990. The inspection services are provided by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency, and we have had a productive long-standing relationship with the inspection service. This relationship has resulted in quality wholesome, safe meat products since our inception. Our motto with our inspectors is “together in success.”
Rodear has a small workforce of 8 permanent employees and will complement that with seasonal workers during the peak Fall season. Our staff members are highly trained in our food safety program. Daily, we work together as a team to ensure a quality, safe product. Our team is well trained, dedicated, focused on processing quality meat products for our customers.
